2009 Highlights

We have had a very busy and happy year. We were away from home a lot on motor home trips with the Rotary RF Fellowship and the Kamper Klub. We have also been active with organizations including the Rotary Club, the Los Angeles Computer Society, the Los Angeles Westside Genealogical Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Elks. We have volunteered at the Culver City Senior Center Computer Lab and a H1N1 flu shot dispensing site.
Our daughter. Jean, is still a recreation supervisor in Hayward, CA. Among her many duties she supervises art and photography galleries. She is planning on furthering her education in the arts to enhance her career. Arden enjoyed a year of pampering!

In January we joined the Kamper Klub for a few days in Banning, CA. It was cold but beautiful. We had fun! In February we were with the same group in Lake Elsinore, CA. There it was warm and the lake was pretty.

The planned trip to Puerto Penasco, MX with the Rotary RV Fellowship in March was canceled due to security concerns. Instead the group went to Tombstone, AZ. Our wagon master led us on a lot of interesting excursions in the area. On the way back we spent a couple of days in
Sedona, AZ, then joined the Kamper Klub again at Lake Elsinore in April.

We left on April 27 for an inland passage cruise to Alaska with a group from the Elk's Club.. We saw some areas we couldn't get to when we RV' d  in Alaska in 2007. Photography does not do justice to all the beauty!

We joined The Rotary National RV Rally in Texas in May and June. On the way back we spent a little time in New Mexico, buying chilis. That was followed by a Kamper Klub rally in Palm Springs, CA. Then we were  home for a little while and had some work and painting done on the house.

In July we joined friends for camping and fishing at Bishop Creek.
We went to Yucaipa, CA again with the Kamper Klub in September. We were wagon masters for a RVF rally in Long Beach in mid September. The Rotary district picnic was also in September.

In October we attended a RVF rally in Moab, Utah. There we did some 4-wheel driving and got to see beautiful scenery off the main roads. We spent time in Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. We believe God is an artist!

In November we went to Death Valley with the RVF where we also attended Death Valley 49ers events at their 60th annual encampment. We were given a tour of a private garden with the UCLA retirees. We had Thanksgiving at Jean's. She was a terrific cook and tour guide around Berkley, Hayward and San Francisco. Mary, Guy, and Norma joined us, and we all had a great time.

We wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and a Happy New Year.
May 2010 be a good year for all.
