We left El Paso and drove to Las Cruces, then to Hatch, the chili capital. We had a good lunch at the Pepper Pot. We bought some roasted green chili's, a string of dried chili's, and a Chili cook book! From Hatch we drove to Demming to the LoW High RV Park. It is a Passport America park and is owned by the Loners on Wheels RV Club. They have cute little cactus and other gardens. It was nearly 100 degrees, dry and breezy.

Since we have a little extra time before the Palm Springs rally starts we decided to spend a couple of days at the Thousand Trails park in Verde Valley, AZ. It is quite warm but not as bad a Tucson. We always like it here. But there is no water in the Verde River. Leah and Arden went out to walk to the river, thought they didn't go far enough, then realized they were walking in the river! The drought has been bad throughout the South West. We had stopped for lunch near Phoenix at a Cracker Barrel

We drove from Demming, NM to Tucson, AZ, stopping at Kranberry's Cafe in Lordsberg for lunch. Had to have more NM green chilies! It was 101 degrees when we arrived. We're at the Tra-Tel Rv Park, a Passport America park. It is surrounded by desert with roadrunners, ground squirrels, and cottontail bunnies running around.
5 June 2009
We spent a lazy day here, a little house cleaning was done in the motor home. By walking a little further we found that there is water in a branch of the Verde River. It is quite a walk to the Family Center from our campsite in section C. Leah and Arden got some exorcise walking around here. It was windy most of the day which kept it from being too hot. An enjoyable day

We attended Mass in Blythe. We stopped in Desert Center for lunch. It's a town of 125 population with several closed stores fronts. But the lunch was good! We joined the Kamper Club rally in Palm Springs. They are a fun group. After Margueritas we had hot dogs with pot luck sides. It is beautiful here, not as hot as it can be.
6 June 2009
We are camping at the River Breeze RV Resort in Ehrenberg on the AZ side of the Colorado River. It is warm, but there is a pleasant breeze. We took drinks and sat by the river watching the boaters and jet skiers.
8 June 2009
This is another nice day here. 5 of us women went shopping at WalMart, buying ingredients for tonight's pot luck and other things. We bought a slow cooker with 3 separate bowls which may replace about 5 other appliances and pots we don't use in the RV. It was only $20! The bowls are microwave and oven safe also. We used one as a bowl for a taco salad for the Mexican pot luck. Many of our group spent the afternoon swimming, playing cards, cutting pieces for a quilt and doing needlework.
9 June 2009
A couple of our members started our day with waffles and sausages. Then a few of us went to the Palm Springs Aviation Museum. They had a fantastic collection of 197 WWII model planes, all built to the same scale. They have a lot of military planes that can still fly. Our members who had been in the service were excited to see them. In the afternoon we sat around and talked and played shuffle board. The club ordered pizza for dinner.
10 June 2009
We did a lot of just sitting around and talking today. The sky was overcast so it stayed nice and cool. We went to Marie Calendaar's for dinner. We'll be home Thursday, 11 June.
