Baked Alaska
Cruising Home
Home at the dock in Long Beach
9 May 2009
This was a day at sea along the Oregon coast on the way home. We were too far out to see the coastline. It will soon be back to reality! We were given a tour of the ship's kitchen. It's such an efficient operation. The staff really works hard! We attended a lecture on sharks that was very interesting. At dinner the kitchen staff was introduced. The head chef is from Jamaica. The ship hires 900 employees from 57 countries. After the formal-dress dinner was the traditional Baked Alaska Parade.

We attended Mass this morning on th ship. This is the last day of the cuisse so we had to pack up everything. We had to buy another duffle bag to accommodate it all! Leah went to an interesting talk on the moon. There was a good show with acts from all the previous shows, before our last 5 course dinner.

We had to get up early to assemble in groups for disembarkation. Everything was well organized and we were home about 10:30 AM. Now it's back to reality with laundry, etc. Arden seemed glad to see us, and we were happy to see him.
