On September 21, 2008 we attended the Rotary District Picnic at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach. Besides the wonderful international food, including Korean and Filipino, the highlight of the day was the cardboard boat race. 8 Rotary clubs created boats out of cardboard, and paddled them in the lagoon. There was also a sand castle building contest.
